Living in the Cathedral District, Downtown Jacksonville
Ashley Lofts is at 412 East Ashley Street, in the Cathedral District at the northeast edge of Downtown Jacksonville. This page is the short version of what the neighborhood is and where the lofts sit in it.
What the Cathedral District is
The Cathedral District is a historic part of downtown, a roughly 36-block area bounded by Main Street on the west and running east toward Liberty Street. It is named for the cluster of old houses of worship at its center, among them St. John's Cathedral on East Church Street and the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception on East Duval Street.
Jacksonville is the county seat of Duval County and the most populous city in Florida, with a consolidated city and county government since 1968. Downtown is the central business district, split by the St. Johns River into a Northbank and a Southbank. Ashley Lofts is on the Northbank.

Where Ashley Lofts sits
The lofts are on East Ashley Street, a few blocks east of Main Street. From the front gate the civic and cultural core is a short walk: James Weldon Johnson Park, the Main Library and the Museum of Contemporary Art are each about a third of a mile southwest, City Hall is about half a mile, and the St. Johns River and the Northbank Riverwalk are about half a mile south. The sports and entertainment venues are about a mile east.
Homes at Ashley Lofts are studio lofts of about 320 square feet, built inside a single steel shipping container, each with a full-size washer and dryer, granite counters and a tiled walk-in shower. The availability page lists the current rent for every open home.
Who the lofts suit
A studio loft of about 320 square feet suits one person who would rather spend on the city than on rooms they do not use. The building is a small, gated community of steel containers stacked around a palm courtyard, not a tower. If you work downtown or go out downtown often, home is a short walk from both.
