Groceries and errands

Groceries and everyday errands downtown

Downtown Jacksonville got its grocery stores back in 2026. An Aldi on North Market Street is the closest, about half a mile from the lofts, and a Whole Foods in Brooklyn is a little farther. Here is where residents buy food, in miles.

The close one: Aldi on North Market Street

An Aldi opened on June 18, 2026 at 777 North Market Street, at Union Street, in a converted former Harveys on the western edge of the Cathedral District. It is the closest full grocery store to Ashley Lofts, about half a mile away.

A little farther: Whole Foods and Publix

A Whole Foods Market opened in May 2026 at the One Riverside development in Brooklyn, about a mile and a half to two miles west. The nearest Publix is the Publix at Riverside on Riverside Avenue, a few miles southwest.

Produce and the rest

The Jacksonville Farmers Market on West Beaver Street, a mile and a half or so west, has sold produce since 1938; it is a market, not a full grocery. Pharmacies and convenience stores are scattered through downtown. For a big stock-up run, most residents drive to Aldi or Whole Foods.

Homes at Ashley Lofts are studio lofts of about 320 square feet, built inside a single steel shipping container, each with a full-size washer and dryer, granite counters and a tiled walk-in shower. The availability page lists the current rent for every open home.
